What's In My Bag ?

Driver

Mizuno MX500 – 10.5 degrees – Grafalloy prolite 3.5R shaft

Fairway Woods

F50 3wd – 16 degrees – Aldilla NV 65R

F50 5wd – 18 degrees – Aldilla NV 65R

Fli Hi CLK – 20 degrees – Aldilla NV Hybrid 85R

Irons

Mizuno MP60’s – Rifle 5.5 shaft
From PW through to 3 iron

Depending on the type of course I am playing and the weather conditions for the week, or even the day, I vary the number of irons, wedges and fairway woods in my bag.
However, during a normal week of play I have all of my fairway woods, so 4 woods in total, including my driver, PW through to 4 iron (so excluding my 3 iron) and then I have 2 other additional wedges, 54 and 58 degree.

In all honesty, I rarely have my 3 iron in my bag, as I prefer to use the Fli Hi CLK.  This is a form of rescue club and is therefore great out the rough and getting more trajectory on the ball.  This is a real help when I am about 200 yards from the green and I want the ball to stop quickly.
The only time I would take this club out and put my 3 iron back in would be on a windy day when I would have to keep the ball lower.

Wedges

All of these wedges are really a type of sand wedge with varying degrees of loft, and are in addition to my MP60 PW, which has 48 degrees of loft.

MPR Series – Black NI – Rifle 5.5 shaft

One with 60 degrees of loft, and 9 degrees of bounce
One with 58 degrees of loft, and 10 degrees of bounce
One with 54 degrees of loft, and 10 degrees of bounce

As you will notice, I have four wedges in total (incl.MP60 PW), I find this really useful as it gives me a lot my flexibility in the type of shots I am able to play.
I always carry the 54 degree wedge in my bag.  If I didn’t, there would be too much of a distance gap between my MP60 PW to the more lofted wedge like the 58 or 60 degree.
Very rarely do I carry both the 58 and 60 wedges at the same time.  If I do, it means I have to take out a fairway wood.
More than often, I take out the 60 degree wedge and keep in the 58 degree.
I find that there is a lot more versatility with the 58 degree wedge and it is still very good out of the bunkers.  Even out of deep green side bunkers, I just open the club face a little more and I find that the ball still comes out like I had played it with my 60 degree wedge.
